Trotsky, Kahlo and Rivera

  1. Thank you for this. I visited Trotsky’s home/museum in 1997 and it was very moving. The window to the right of where Natalya walked out was I believe his office window and his desk was a simple table and chair. It was a modest workers
    home by American standards but unlike workers hojmes full of books and magazines. On his desk was a copy of the
    “Militant”. I credit that to the curator. What intrigued me was that he and Natalya had separate bedrooms. But single
    narrow, almost monastery/convent simple beds.

    I had just come down the road from Kahlo’s house and the glory of it still impresses me. My cochina is based on Kahlo’s with tiles all over the walls and floors. They too had separate beds and casitas. I went through the books in Diego’s bedroom and regret I did not make a list but I did note there were several biography’s of Stalin but not Trotsky’s. Again,
    I credit the curator.

    I treasure these pictures.
