Henwoods’ gently sneering skepticism strikes again: “It was a very mixed bag ideologically. It seems like the latest iteration of American populism, which hates Wall Street and internationalization but loves small business and the local.” So on and so forth with his article.
No doubt, but what does one really expect here in the USA, or in the now “Americanized” world for that matter? People entering into the struggle for the first time not only must learn it for themselves, but must do so under historical conditions that more closely resemble 1848 than anything more recent.
A bit more of an attitude of generosity laced with patience is in order for socialists in these times.
