  1. I’ve seen this at YouTube a few weeks ago, tried to find the original DVD version and had no luck so if anyone knows if it can be bought would be grateful, great clips often disappear and the quality of YouTube is so-so

  2. It just occurred to me that that piece he plays at the beginning reminds me of something by Debussy. Can anybody help me out with this?

  3. It must be Nuages, a piece that Django recorded numerous times. It incorporated Debussyian harmonies but it was his own composition.

  4. OK, it was Debussy’s Reverie. A lot of jazz musicians have treated it as a tune, such as Rollins, for example but I don’t think they normally play that part of it.

  5. Hmmm, seems Django didn’t even play that bit in his own version of Reverie. Looks like he got two different tunes out of the same piece.
