    Once more with feeling!

This is a welcome change of pace. Living in new orleans louisiana i’ve had to suffer through quite a few of these noxious displays of pointless jingoism. But this does beg an interesting question. Regarding Bin Laden’s death for quite a few years he’d been the symbol of the whole global war on terror the archetype for the scary anti-american muslim determined to destroy our freedoms. Now that he’s gone i wonder who they’ll choose to replace him. After all if history serves as a guide when you want to go to war with people it’s much easier to whip your own population into a frenzy when you have convenient villain to whom you can attribute all evil and simulatneously use as the standard bearer for an entire race. Having one big bad helps to greatly simplify a narrative. Any thoughts on who’ll take his place to justify our continued occupations in the middle east?

  3. I’m not sure anyone will be needed. Who was that famous man the Romans crucified whose body disappeared? It didn’t stop pieces of the true cross being “found”, along with innumerable other relics. Quite a profitable industry emerged out of it.
