Indian realities

An interesting photograph of a Muslim mother in a veil, with her son dressed as Hindu God Krishna (might be for a school function). It depicts the real India where people of all religions lived together for centuries.

  2. Centuries of war, attacks and pograms on the subcontinent between the various groups, tribes and religions; sure looks like the “real India” is all about “living together” to me. Weren’t you just writing about the Hindu government’s attack on the holiest of holy Sikh sites on this very website a few weeks ago? Consistency is key my friend.

  3. Kinda funny too that the whole basis of Marx is that no population anywhere is really “living together” in peace, that all societies are class societies, that those classes are always in conflict (until the conflict is finally resolved via communism), and that this conflict is the driving force of human history. Apparently this doesn’t apply in “the real India”?

Western fantasies about the “eastern Shangrala” or whatever are as dangerous as they are wrong.

  4. What the hell does “consistency is important, my friend” mean? Erasing whatever doesn’t conform to a simplistic caricature, whether of life in India or of a stranger’s beliefs? Note: rhetorical questions. You are a silly person.
